The upcoming third season of Harley Quinn It arrives on HBO Max later this month And when the fan-favorite animated series returns, it will bring with it plenty of mischief, humor, adventure, and even a guest appearance by himself-playing director James Gunn. But for all things wild coming in season 3 and with Gunn running galaxy guard Marvel movies, there’s one thing Justin Halpern and writers Harley Quinn and Patrick Schoomaker couldn’t bring to the series — jokes about Marvel.
During the Instagram AMA (via direct), Schumaker and Halpern explained that they included some Marvel jokes, but in the end “couldn’t” include them, explaining that doing so spoiled the series’ world a lot, although they did not rule out the possibility of additional content in the future.
“We even had some Marvel jokes there that we ended up not being able to include in the show,” they explained. “I think we ended up saying, ‘Eh, it kind of broke the world of the show.’ But we had a joke… [with] Thanos and then Clives was like, “Who is Thanos?” But she felt like she might have been breaking the show’s world. But who knows, maybe we’ll get some extra content there at some point.”
Shoemaker and Halpern previously said, ComicBook.com This third season will cover a lot of things, including Harley and Ivy’s budding relationship.
“I definitely think we’ll see Gordon wrestling with Gordon, how should I say, his low approval in Gotham City and low approval from the Gotham City Police Department,” Halpern said. “I think we’ll see…we’ll dive a little bit more into Ivy’s life and then history. Origins. I think we’re going to do that. I think those are the only two things that we do. We kind of hit it off so far in our initial discussions that were like, ‘Yeah, I definitely want to.'” do these things
“I know we don’t want to do ‘will they break up or will they not? ‘Thing. I don’t think we want that to be the bets of the season. I think we want to see… I mean, there’s obviously going to be conflict and tensions between them when some things go wrong. But I don’t think we want this to be… We’ve had two years. In playing that, or two seasons, I don’t think we want to do that for a third season, so that’s what we don’t want to do.”
season 3 of Harley Quinn HBO Max is scheduled to arrive on July 28. In addition to guest-starring Gunn himself, the season will also feature a guest appearance from Harvey Guillen in Nightwing and more.
